Vegas?
So I was there, but didn't see a lot of it. I managed to sleep through all of the casino hunting, strip searching (haha), and other fun things. Sleep was good.
As for playing, I realized that I need to work on cutting. When I am the first cutter, it is really easy to know what you need to do and when you need to do it. As a consequence, I think im pretty good at it. Put me somewhere in the middle though and I lose confidence because I am too afraid of getting the timing wrong since we are yelled at about it all the time in practice.
Once we started losing people to injuries (stupid shoulders and ankles and backs...) I ended up being 3rd handler for basically the rest of the games, which was really different for me. One thing I started to do was fake a bit better, which helped me. It wasn't even moving the disc around so much as physically looking upfield to loosen up the defender.
I got jostled around a bunch in one game and the girls on the team kept yelling at me and telling me to drop the disc and things like that, and so I just kept handling because I need to get over the fact that other teams are not as nice as our team. We are just too damn friendly in the NE I guess.
My throws need to get better, but they have been improving a ton, so I feel like that will come with time. I still need to watch my upfield throws, but I think I did a good job holstering them. I think I only threw one away upfield.
I need to get in shape.
I need to try to lift more.
I need to take better care of my body in general.
I guess that's it for now. I guess I am just really needy!
