the cool kids write posts with titles

So yeah, I tweaked my knee (which is increasingly easy to do, it seems to only happen when I shuffle on defense and don't try to bait Ds) in the first point of our second game this weekend, so I spent my time working on my sideline game. Don't know what's up with my knee, but this problem has been around since last spring just before nationals. I'll get it checked out while I'm here with my sweet-ass dartmouth insurance.

In other news I got an hour of sleep or so last night. Our (anne, hayley kennedy and my) architecture projects should be ready for showing on Thursday, if anyone wants to trek to the architecture studio to check them out.

I'm pumped for y'all this year (both the mens and womens teams). I can see a lot of great energy and focus. Tons of potential. I'm gonna try to make it out for nationals if anyone goes. Do iiiit.

Matt: recouping

Yeah, I had a great weekend. Brown was a blast, on the field anyways (the party was atrocious). Dartmouth had some really solid play, on the whole. Wound up losing to UMass Zoodisc in semis on universe point, but that we came back to force universe point after being down 9-4 is highly commendable. It would've been nice to beat Umass to get to Brown, seeing as Brown lost to UMass on universe point as well; we're looking at a wide open region here, folks, and it bodes well that we've still got lots we can improve upon, lots of potential to fulfill, and will certainly be a team much improved come spring.

Anyways, I played pretty well; my stat line for the tourney was something along the lines of 10 touches, 1 turn (sorry about that, Dermott), 1 D, maybe 3 thrown scores, and then 4-5 caught scores. Which means, ratio-wise, when I touch the disc Dartmouth scores points, more often than not (the point I had a turn on we got back and still converted). Played D-line as usual, only had the 1 D but I certainly forced a couple other turns, and generally played fairly solidly.

Though I am a bit sore today. Not too bad for practice, though, which is a good sign, but nonetheless I'm looking forward to really whipping my ass into shape come winter.

With that in mind, I'm planning to do my first run in a long, long time tomorrow morning. We'll see how it goes. I'll probably also lift tomorrow evening--gonna try and get a solid lifting session in and then I'll likely keep it more low-stress until we start training proper in a couple weeks, with a focus on my right knee, which is always on the verge of being a liability, and on the core (particularly obliques) and upper body, probably the shoulders. My back/shoulders have been annoying me lately. Thinking I'll get away from the 'standard' ultimate workout we usually do and get some variety in after tomorrow, as well.

In other news...er...oh! I got Soul Calibur 3 in the mail the other day. Planning to break it in after I finish this post (man, I love having no homework. And being an asshole about it).
