Trackkie

Man oh man, does it ever feel good to get back out on the track. Basically my first time running (practice isn't the same sort of running) without my ankle brace in a month. I've upgraded from the hulking, restrictive, lace-and-strap brace to a much smaller, more elegant ankle sock that provides some pressure.

Anyways, aside from forgetting how to pace for 200s I had a solid workout with Socks.

100 striders
200s-30 (too fast), 31 (still too fast), 36 (crap, too slow), 33
300s-56, 57, 56
200s-34, 34, 33, 33
100s-14low, 14mid, 14low, 14low

Ankle's not completely better--the inside still needs some strengthening. Compensated for the weakness by going the opposite direction on the track so more weight was on the outside of my left foot on the turns. I was pretty happy with the 300s-was thinking I'd be a second or two slower, but the 200s should be faster/more consistent overall--32, maybe 33 for all of them.

MIA

So, is anyone wondering why they haven't seen me in 5 days? It's because I'm in Colorado skiing with my dad. Yay off terms. As a result of my trip (and trying to get stuff ready for Vegas the week before), I have missed lifting the last two weeks. Oops. I'll be back at it when I return to campus on Wednesday. As for missing agilities and practice, I think hiking at 12,000 feet for 30 minutes plus hitting mogul constantly is a good substitute. At the end of the day I feel like I just spent the past 6 hours doing a track workout.

As for Vegas, I felt pretty good about my play and feel that I found my niche on the O line. I make in cuts. Always. I'm too short and slow to make an effective deep cut with consistancy, but I found myself getting open pretty often on my incuts. Now the next thing I need to do is work on my throws so I can do something with the disc once I get it on the in cut. Being able to be a threat to hit a streaking Elliot or Pov on a deep cut after I get the in would be awesome.

Okay, all for now.

Vegas was good. I made a long-winded post about it at my blog (ring ring) if you really want to hear what I had to say about it all.
